Leadership and Organizational Consulting Services

Interim Executive Support

  • I can fulfill vacant operational executive positions when immediate support is needed (perhaps an upcoming Magnet designation, regulatory visit, or simply someone to come in while a permanent person is found)

Professional Practice Model Design, Creation, and Implementation

  • Workshops or retreats (for design and creation) with ongoing support during implementation

  • 4-hour or 8-hour sessions customized per organizational need
  • Focus on the foundation of professional nursing practice with contemporary principles of professional governance to create and design the models

Care Delivery Model Design and Implementation

  • This is a long-term engagement customized per organizational need
  • Begins with a “kick-off” retreat lasting 4 hours
  • Weekly 2-hour engagements with the determined people and disciplines the organization identifies to be involved
  • Ongoing support for 3 months after implementation
  • Pre- and post-data collection with ongoing support to evaluate the model and outcomes
  • Completely customizable and designed for the specific patient and staff populations involved

Nursing Strategic Planning

  • Sessions with CNO and executive leadership team to understand goals and needs in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan
  • Includes either a “retreat” or multiple shorter sessions with the nursing executive leadership team
  • Subsequent sessions with nurse managers/directors as well as any professional governance, staff teams
  • Completely customizable to needs of the organization.
  • SWOT analysis and development/coordination of strategic plan and provide ongoing support for the first year
  • Subsequent work could be done remotely with occasional in-person time as desired/needed

Nursing Annual Reports

  • Showcase of nursing achievements and challenges in an annual deliverable report (electronic or print)
  • Involves a few 2–4-hour meetings with the nursing leadership team and professional governance groups
  • Can be all done virtually with remote meetings

Professional Governance

  • On-site engagements of varying length and customizable per organizational needs
  • Involves engagement with staff, leaders, and advanced practice nurses
  • Would educate on foundations of professional governance
  • Work with teams to design how professional governance would “look” in their organization
  • Customizable within the principles of professional governance
  • Virtual educational sessions for nurses and nurse leaders
  • Requires an on-site 8-hour retreat with subsequent 4-hour and 2-hour meetings to design a professional governance strategy
  • May include development of a “council” or oversight structure to support decision making with staff and leaders together
  • Current and relevant research reviews would be provided.

Nursing Executive/Leadership Retreats

  • Every retreat is customized based on the needs of the leadership team.
  • We ground ourselves in our shared purpose, connecting on a human level, and designing a path forward to achieve mutual goals.
  • Participants will leave feeling inspired, renewed, with tangible action items to share with their teams.
  • Retreats can also be created to assist with strategic planning, designing new processes, or developing new care delivery models.

Professional Role of the Nurse

  • Comprehensive in-person offering: 3-6 months of bi-weekly sessions with leaders, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Supervisors, House Supervisors
  • Customizable to the organization - all pieces of this education can be broken out into different educational modalities (modules, virtual sessions, etc.) as supplemental to the in-person offering

Therapeutic Nurse-Patient Relationship

  • Virtual 1-hour offering for basic educational needs
  • Virtual 4-hour event with more in-depth focus on what the Therapeutic Nurse-Patient Relationship and engaging simulation to actualize the practices
  • Longer session includes barriers to building a therapeutic nurse-patient relationship with strategies to overcome

  • Very broad and customizable
  • Examples may include:
