I have a BSN in Nursing, an MS in Administrative Nursing, and decades of experience. During my career I have served in several progressive leadership positions in acute care and health system settings, including roles in professional practice, patient experience, and as a CNO.
I’ve seen the best that nursing has to offer. I’ve also experienced – first hand – the many challenges nursing leaders at all levels face when trying to create healthy cultures of excellence in an increasingly complex environment.

I know that resources are scarce to provide the necessary development of nurses and nursing leaders.
I know that nurses and nurse leaders are feeling the weight of increased expectations and decreased resources.
I know that executive leaders struggle, at times, to advocate and be fully heard when asking for help in achieving outcomes related to clinical care, patient experience, employee experience, and financial stewardship.
I know that it is hard to afford resources to come in and provide support for projects, open leadership positions, professional practice, professional development, and inspiration for all team members to find joy and fulfillment in their roles.

That’s why I’m here.

I have extensive theoretical and philosophical knowledge of the nursing profession, the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship, nursing leadership science, human connection, barriers to human connection (implicit bias), and the human experience (employee and patient).
I have served as a professional practice director, developed contemporary care delivery models and professional practice models. I have studied and spoken extensively on implicit bias and how even minor things we see as routine in healthcare and nursing interrupt our relationships with each other and with patients.
I have also struggled to advocate and find adequate support for my leaders and team members to pause, reflect, and develop and implement real changes that are sustainable.
